Who is Hannah?
Hannah McPierzie is an internationally recognised presenter and educator who combines her outstanding skills as a teacher with her lived experience of deafblindness.
Hannah is committed to making communication as accessible as possible in every form; written, spoken, digital, visual, and built.
Through her personal journey and 15 years’ experience working with students with disabilities, Hannah’s advocacy is shaped by both learned and lived experience.
She presents workshops and information sessions at universities, hospitals, research institutes, private companies and government agencies, building critical awareness of disability and helping people develop the skills and capacity to recognise communication barriers and make meaningful change.
A mentor, natural collaborator, accessibility enthusiast and campaigner, Hannah is experienced in working with neurodivergent people, including people with autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and people with complex communication needs.
Her passion for accessibility and inclusion was fostered during her time in schools, and her determination to create a more inclusive society continues to drive her work.
Hannah is Chair of Deafblind West Australians and Vice Chair of Deafness Forum Australia. She has a Bachelor of Education — Primary, with additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs, and works as a lecturer in Inclusive Medical Education at the University of Western Australia’s Medical School.
Hannah is Perth-based and works globally.
