Who is Hannah?

Hannah McPierzie is a globally respected presenter and educator who combines her outstanding skills as a teacher with her lived experience of deafblindness.

Through her personal journey and 15 years’ experience working with students with disabilities, her advocacy is framed from the perspective of someone with both learned and lived experience.

Presenting workshops and information sessions at universities, hospitals and research institutes, private companies and government agencies, she builds critical awareness of disability, helping people develop skills and capacity to see barriers and make changes.

Mentor, natural collaborator, accessibility enthusiast and campaigner, Hannah is experienced at working with Neurodivergent peoples, including those with Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Epilepsy, FASDs and people with complex communication needs, including AAC users.

Her passion for accessibility and inclusion was fostered during her time in schools, and her determination to create a more inclusive society drives her onwards.

Chair of Deafblind West Australians, a Non-Executive Director at Deafness Forum Australia, and a representative on the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Consultative Committee, Hannah has a Bachelor of Education – Primary Students with Special Education Needs. She was 2024 Valedictorian for the Leadership WA LeadAbility Course and gained her Emerging Leaders in Governance qualification in 2023.
